Juneteenth marks the day when federal troops arrive in Galveston, Texas, the last corner of the United States, to ensure all enslaved people are freed. Today, Juneteenth honors the end of slavery in the United States. To celebrate, we will be honoring local black-owned businesses with social media reviews and goodies, hosting celebrations within the community with good food, and looking into the historical importance of Juneteenth.
